Since I’m a coffee lover, I’m always on the look out for new coffee spots in Mexico City. Every time I come across a new restaurant or café I wanna try them out and see what they are all about. I was very curious about Boicot. From outside it looks like a super cool place with a very trendy decoration and a big coffee bar in the entrance. I passed by it several times and it has kind of been calling my name so I knew I had to try it. I’ve never seen it super busy, but there always a few tables taken with people working other computers and I have to admit I pictured myself sitter there blogging about life with a New York feeling going on.
One day I finally decided to give it a shot and me and my blogger pal Henry went to try it out. Our expectations were pretty high as we stepped into the shop, but unfortunately I have to say we were very disappointed. I ordered an Ice Latte and it tasted like water with milk. I also asked for a panini and I think even the panini at Starbucks tastes better. Henry wanted to try one of the empanadas, and we even laughed when they brought him a mini piece of dough that he could finish in one bite. Over all my conclusion is the following; they really made an effort making the place look cool and interesting but they forgot about the menu and the coffee. The things that really matters if you ask me.
